One annoyance I’ve heard from many people who sit in my Tesla is that it lacks grab handles, which are normally located above all doors in the interior of most cars. Tesla decided not to include them to help support their minimalistic design, and they also have a more prominent handle by the door release button that can be used instead. One key consideration for anyone looking to buy a Tesla Model 3, or any electric vehicle (EV) in general, is its range. In other words, how far it can go on a single charge. As a Tesla owner myself, it’s one of the most common questions that I’m asked and the answer’s not as simple as you might think… Continue reading to explore factors that affect the Model 3’s range, and some tips on how to maximize it. Let’s see how far a Tesla Model 3 can go on a single charge.

Battery and Range

Currently, Tesla offers three trims of the Model 3 that can be ordered directly from their site. This includes the Rear-Wheel Drive, Long Range and Performance models, respectively. The Rear-Wheel Drive trims are currently shipped with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, whereas the Long Range and Performance models have a lithium-ion battery pack. Buying a Tesla is not as crazy as it seems for a young car owner in Canada.

Since getting my Tesla Model 3, one of the most recurring comments that I’ve heard has been “that’s an expensive car” or “how can you afford to have a Tesla?” which has got me thinking about the subject. I mean, I obviously did my math to make sure my finances would not take a nosedive by choosing the Model 3 over the Ford Focus I was leasing, but what seemed obvious to me – after doing the research – did not appear to be apparent to everybody else. So, the time has come for you to decide on a new car. You’re a young adult and would like to get a ride that is fun, comfortable, without breaking your bank. We all have dream cars: Ferrari’s, Lamborghinis, etc. For some people, a Tesla is at the same level as those two. You see how sleek the Tesla’s are and the profile of the typical Tesla owner and you may think they are out of your reach for now. But are they really? Let’s break it down:

How to put Tesla Model 3 into Neutral

Before entering a car wash, you probably questioned “how do I put the car in neutral?” Unlike many ICE, it is not as trivial for Model 3. Don’t worry, you are not alone. On the Model 3, you simply push down for 1 full click to get into drive, and then softly raise the stick WITHOUT clicking for a few seconds and it will shift into neutral. I hope this helps! Also, don’t forget to turn off automatic wipers before entering that car wash.
