As a result, I often get questions about how to access basic controls, especially when it comes to the wipers. Continue for steps on how to access wiper controls in a Tesla Model 3 and Model Y.

One annoyance I’ve heard from many people who sit in my Tesla is that it lacks grab handles, which are normally located above all doors in the interior of most cars. These are typically used when getting into and out of any vehicle, but can also be handy if it’s an especially bumpy ride. Tesla decided not to include them to help support their minimalistic design, and they also have a more prominent handle by the door release button that can be used instead. The follow-up questions I get are typically about what else is missing from these cars, with a hint of shade in their voice. One of the most common ones is about coat hangers. When I first took delivery of my Tesla, the silence of driving without an engine took some getting used to. Here’s where to find the interior emergency trunk release on a Tesla Model 3 and Model Y.
A key factor in any car purchasing decision is storage. Naturally, the first place most think of when it comes to storage is the trunk. The cars of today mostly have fixed positions for their liftgates, which can be an issue for some. Whether the normal location is too tall, or you’re avoiding a low ceiling, being able to set it where you want is an added perk. Lucky for you, the liftgate position is adjustable for the entire Tesla lineup. Continue reading for steps on how to adjust the opening height of the trunk of a Tesla.

Personally, I’ve completed quite a few trips where I was able to fit small furniture and other items into my Model 3 with the seats down. Continue reading for steps on how to fold the rear seats in a Tesla Model 3 and Model Y.
Since my brother got his Tesla Model Y, he’s constantly been told “that’s an expensive car” or “how can you afford to have a Tesla?” This got me thinking, how much does a new Tesla Model Y really cost in Canada? I mean, my brother obviously did the math to make sure his finances would not take a nosedive by choosing the Model Y over a gas-powered SUV, but what seemed obvious to me and my brother – after doing the research – did not appear to be apparent to everybody else. With that in mind, I decided to do the work for you and when the time comes, hopefully I’ve made your decision easier.

You just got your new Tesla Model 3 and the delivery specialist did not show you how to open glovebox in Tesla Model 3. It happens. It is not trivial as there are no visible buttons or latches. Tesla has probably done this for aesthetic reasons and cut cost. Well it is simple:
Tap on the the Model 3 icon at the lower left corner to bring up quick controls.
Look at bottom left for an option to open the glovebox.
How do you open the glovebox if the screen is cracked during a crash?
For example, if you are involved in a crash and there is a need to access the glovebox as your important documents are likely in there. Most of us keep our insurance and ownership documents in there. Well Tesla is aware of this limitation. The screen is permanently fixed in place so it less likely to crack but nothing is immune during collisions.
The opening of the doors inside of a Tesla Model 3 is not trivial for the first time users. New passengers often wonder on how to open doors on Model 3. Well, there are two ways to open the doors from inside.
The correct way on Model 3 to open doors from inside is to always use the open door button, marked with a green check mark.
However, this button is not so obvious in year 2018-2020 models. There are some stickers that you can purchase to make it more obvious. For 2021 models and above, Tesla has changed the open icon to make it more intuitive.
What is that second door latch to open the door?
In addition, the latch marked with “x” also opens the door on Model 3. But, you should not use this to open the door. This is strictly for emergency purposes. For example, to get out when there is absolutely no charge left in the battery. Or the button has stopped working after a collision or just a random malfunction.
You were enjoying your time in your Tesla Model 3 and were listening to some stations that you rather keep to yourself and not leave them there for other passengers to see in your recent history. You like listening to Backstreets Boys but your love shall remain anonymous. Or you are someone who simply does’t like clutter. Now you are wondering how do I delete recent radio stations from history in my Model 3? There should be an option to quickly erase or factory reset the recent stations. Unfortunately, as of December 2020, there is no option to do so.
As of December 2020
You cannot delete recent Model 3 radio stations. You can only delete favourites.
Tesla may choose to include clear history feature in the future updates but as of today there is no option. The best way to get rid of them is to listen to more stations, one after another until they are pushed far left.
You could edit your favourites easily on the other hand. editing favourites is fairly simple. Simply hold onto the station, also known as long press, until the “X” appears on the top left. You can then click on it to remove it. Keeping favourites organized is the best you can do to keep this row clutter fee.
Let’s discuss how to update to the latest Tesla Model 3 software even when there is no Wifi. For some of us, we park our cars where there is no Wifi coverage. I live in an apartment building where my parking spot is no way near my Wifi signal. I often miss out of software updates on Tesla Model 3. It is not until I hear from a friend about a recent update or get buzzed on the Tesla app to connect to a Wifi for an update. Don’t worry, you are not alone. We will look into some ways you can still get software updates. Although Tesla installs some of the security critical updates through in-built LTE network connectivity but most of the updates require you to connect to Wifi.
Unfortunately, there is no way to force updates through your LTE network connectivity other than at Tesla Service Center. Below are some of the next best ways to update Model 3 software when there is no Wifi.

Public Wifi at Starbucks or McDonald’s parking lot
Buying a Tesla is not as crazy as it seems for a young car owner in Canada.
Since getting my Tesla Model 3, one of the most recurring comments that I’ve heard has been “that’s an expensive car” or “how can you afford to have a Tesla?” which has got me thinking about the subject. I mean, I obviously did my math to make sure my finances would not take a nosedive by choosing the Model 3 over the Ford Focus I was leasing, but what seemed obvious to me – after doing the research – did not appear to be apparent to everybody else. With that in mind, I decided to do the work for you and, when the time comes for you, hopefully, I’ve made the decision easier, here are some thoughts.
So, the time has come for you to decide on a new car. You’re a young adult and would like to get a ride that is fun, comfortable, without breaking your bank. We all have dream cars: Ferrari’s, Lamborghinis, etc. For some people, a Tesla is at the same level as those two. You see how sleek the Tesla’s are and the profile of the typical Tesla owner and you may think they are out of your reach for now. But are they really? Let’s break it down:

Before entering a car wash, you probably questioned “how do I put the car in neutral?” Unlike many ICE, it is not as trivial for Model 3. Don’t worry, you are not alone. On the Model 3, you simply push down for 1 full click to get into drive, and then softly raise the stick WITHOUT clicking for a few seconds and it will shift into neutral. I hope this helps! Also, don’t forget to turn off automatic wipers before entering that car wash.
